If you consider ancient history and culture then the one set of people that really stand out is the Egyptians. Technological wonders such as the pyramids, the first known writing and medical skills (such as amputation) were common knowledge to them. Ironic then that their most famous icon should turn out to be an insignificant boy king and the son of a heretic! Now it would seem that Tutankhamon doesn't even deserve the "fame" of having been murdered! New evidence suggests that King Tut merely died from an untreated infection.
